Minnal Lab

Sujanth Suthaharan

Technical SEO and custom ROM enthusiast

I work as a technical SEO specialist and test custom ROMs such as GrapheneOS and LineageOS in my spare time, as well as Linux on the desktop. Here I document what works on my own devices and what does not.

Why Minnal Lab?

Minnal (மின்னல்) is the Tamil word for lightning. The name stands for the two sides of flashing.

Speed: a new ROM is flashed in a few minutes. Afterwards, a completely different system runs on the device.

Danger: lightning can do damage, and flashing can go wrong. If the process is interrupted, the wrong image ends up on the device or the bootloader is locked with the wrong system, the device may not boot at all in the worst case. It is bricked, about as useful as a brick.

That is why this is a lab: I test every guide myself on real devices and point out the steps where things get risky.
