Privacy policy

This privacy policy applies to minnallab.com and the German edition minnallab.de (Minnal Lab). Both domains run on the same server. TheGerman version is legally binding.

Cloudflare

Both domains are served through the content delivery network of Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). Every request first reaches Cloudflare and is forwarded from there to our server. Cloudflare processes your IP address and the request data to deliver the website and protect it against attacks. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (secure and fast operation).

Server log files

When you open a page, the web server (nginx) stores a shortened IP address (IPv4 without the last byte, IPv6 only the first 32 bits), date and time, requested URL, status code, amount of data transferred, referrer and user agent. Requests whose user agent claims to be a search engine or AI crawler are additionally logged with the full IP address to detect fake crawlers. The logs are turned into anonymous statistics (page views, referring sites, crawler visits) with GoAccess on the same server. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (secure operation and improvement of the website). The logs are deleted after 7 days.

Visitor counting with umami

This website counts page views with umami. umami runs on the same server as this website, the statistics are not held by an analytics provider. A small script served from this domain sends the page address (without query parameters), the page title, the referrer, the screen size and the browser language. From this, the server derives browser, operating system, device type and approximate location (country, region, city). The IP address is not stored: umami combines IP address, user agent, the current day and a secret key into an identifier that groups page views of the same day. On the next day, the same visit can no longer be linked. No cookies are set and no data is stored in your browser. In addition to page views, the script counts individual interactions: copying a code block (which page), clicking a download (which file) and the search terms entered in the site search. Like page views, these events are only stored with a daily identifier; the IP address is not stored here either. If "Global Privacy Control" or "Do Not Track" is enabled, the script sends nothing. This website sets no cookies, loads no external fonts and embeds no advertising or social media services.
